Via el blog de Matt Asay llego a una recopilación de las 10 frases más populares de Linus Torvalds, según los votos en thinkexist.com, realizada por el sitio computer business review.

Linus es uno de los “mostros” del Software Libre que más admiro, sobre todo porque suele decir lo que piensa, lo cual muchas veces le ha generado críticas y originado más de un flamewar. Por lo tanto decidí hacer mi propia recopilación… sin ordenarla por preferencia alguna, simplemente, mis frases favoritas de Linus Torvalds:

“The Linux philosophy is ‘Laugh in the face of danger’. Oops. Wrong One. ‘Do it yourself’. Yes, that’s it.” (La filosofía de Linux es ‘Sonríe ante el peligro’. Oops. Equivocado. ‘Hazlo tu mismo’. Si, eso es.)

“The memory management on the PowerPC can be used to frighten small children.” (La administración de la memoria en el PowerPc puede usarse para asustar a niños pequeños)

“Intelligence is the ability to avoid doing work, yet getting the work done” (Inteligencia es la habilidad de evitar trabajar, y aún así lograr que el trabajo se haga)

“Some people have told me they don’t think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen a angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100 mph. They’d be a lot more careful about what they say if they had.” (Algunas personas me han dicho que no piensan que un pingüino gordo realmente representa la gracia de Linux, lo cual simplemente me indica que nunca han visto un pingüino atacarlos a 160 km. por hora. Tendrían más cuidado con lo que dicen si les hubiera pasado.)
